Pain Rehabilitation Christchurch (Pain Rehab) provides you with access to a range of health professionals, such as physiotherapists, psychologists, medical doctors, occupational therapists, nurses, dietitian and counsellors.
How many of these experts you see will depend on your personal situation and your levels of pain. You will be allocated a keyworker, who will meet you for an assessment, and work with you to find the right combination of providers.

Our team has psychologists with many years of experience in helping with problems such as depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, relationship difficulties, grief and eating and sleeping disorders. They may be able to offer techniques such as CBT, ACT and mindfulness as well as stress management strategies.
Occupational therapists have particular skills to help with getting back to the normal day to day activities that are so often restricted by having ongoing pain. Establishing helpful routines and strategies for improving your overall enjoyment and quality of life are important. Our Occupational Therapists will often travel to meet you to see how things are going at home or work.
When you have a persistent pain problem, often particular combinations of medications are required, depending on the diagnosis. Pain physicians are highly qualified in this area and can recommend the best medication combinations for your particular situation. Sometimes, reducing medication is well worthwhile too and this process can be discussed in a consultation, as well as realistic alternatives.
